Historically, our civilian staff worked in administration and finance. Today WA Police Staff hold many positions previously filled by sworn police officers.

Our police staff are often the first point of contact for members of the public but many of our police staff also contend with the harsh realities of policing in their day-to-day work and work tirelessly behind the scenes to achieve the same objectives.

Nominations for the Western Australia Police Staff of the Year Award are accepted from any member of the community and colleagues, excluding police staff families.

All WA Police staff employees up to, and including, Level 5 are eligible for nomination.

All nominations received throughout the year are finalised by the end of August and the annual award ceremony is held in early October.
