Award winning 2011 WA Police Exhibition

Royal Show LaunchThe 2011 WA Police Exhibition has won a design and presentation award at the Perth Royal Show.

This year’s theme focuses on community policing and aims to demonstrate the different ways WA Police engages with the community. The exhibition showcases the broad range of roles WA Police plays in this state and provides an opportunity for members of the public to interact with WA Police officers.

The Concept Car is strongly featured in the exhibition as the future of community policing. Mr Ward said: “The vehicle represents a philosophy that, in the near future, all WA Police cars will be mobile police stations.”

Other displays in the exhibition include:

  • A WA Police motorcycle
  • The opportunity for school-aged children to leave messages for the police in their community
  • The Force Special Royal Show Edition
  • A collection of 500 works of art from children all over WA depicting their own policing messages
  • A gallery of images from a variety of policing units
  • A touch screen display of different policing roles
  • The Community Gallery Activity Book
  • A competition to win a school holiday family pack valued at $2,000 which includes accommodation, meal, entertainment and activity vouchers
  • Constable Care, including a puppet show three times daily
  • Crime Stoppers, including their new television advertisement.

“The WA Police Exhibition is a fantastic opportunity for WA Police to engage with the community and really showcase the work we do,” Mr Ward said.

The Perth Royal Show runs from Saturday 1 October until Saturday 8 October, and entrance to the WA Police Exhibition is free.
