During the Labour Day long weekend double demerits will apply between 00:01 hours on Friday 4 March 2011 until 23:59 hours on Monday 7 March 2011.

During this period double demerit points will apply to the following offences:

• Speeding
• Seatbelt offences
• Drink driving
• Drug driving
• Driver allowing a person to travel in a vehicle’s open load space
• Driver failing to supply police with an oral sample or blood sample
