Operation Eraser rubs out graffiti crime

A recent graffiti-focussed operation conducted across Perth metropolitan districts has brought impressive results along with success further south of the city.

  • Belmont police kicked off Operation Eraser by arresting a Cloverdale man with 124 counts of criminal damage on City of Belmont property.

  • East Metro DCT graffiti officers accompanied Swan Transit staff to view live-feed CCTV footage from a Swan Transit bus. They observed a person committing graffiti offences on a bus and arrested him on four counts of criminal damage.

  • In Port Kennedy, Police Transport Southern seized 138 spray cans, a digital camera and documents from the residence of a 17 year-old male. He has been charged with 150 counts of criminal damage.

“In addition to all our other priorities I’m very pleased to see this type of continued success in the area of graffiti crime,” Acting Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Stephen Brown APM said.
