The graduation on 19 October made history with three squads graduating on the same day for the first time ever at the WA Police Academy in Joondalup.
64 men and 25 women joined the ranks of WA Police following the ceremony, adding to what has already been a record breaking year for the Academy.
Graduating recruits come from a wide range of countries, including Croatia, India, Ireland,New Zealand, Paraguay, Philippines, Romania, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States of America and Yugoslavia.
“These officers have graduated in time to participate in the CHOGM event, making for a very memorable start to their careers,” said Academy Principal Superintendent Craig Donaldson.
“Academy staff have met the challenge of recruiting and training additional officers to meet the policing requirements of the next few weeks and beyond and they’ve met or surpassed all the necessary objectives in doing so,” he said.
