Rumble returns to work

Rumble and First Class Constable Mathew MulettaPolice dog Rumble is back on the beat after recovering from the life threatening wounds to his neck and right front leg that he suffered in July.

Rumble required surgery after being attacked by two large dogs, with Murdoch University veterinary surgeons unsure that he would ever be fit enough to return to work.

“We’re thrilled to have Rumble back and he’s as good as new,” said handler First Class Constable Mathew Muletta. “Rumble has had a long road to recovery, but physically and mentally he’s now definitely ready for the challenges of policing,” he said. “On his first night back he was instrumental in an arrest which was a great way for him to start back - and this has just carried on - just last night we made two more arrests - so he really is on fire,” he said. “I think he’s as pleased as we are that he’s back doing what he does so well.”
