Western Australia Police – the World’s Largest Single Police Jurisdiction
A new book, ‘Western Australia Police – the World’s Largest Single Police Jurisdiction’, put together by specialist military and aerospace photographers, Alexis Bachofen and Jon Davison with assistance from WA Police Media and Corporate Communications, is a visual snapshot of WA Police, combining the colourful history of the agency with a pictorial essay of a modern-day police agency.
The book has been developed over about two years, and features candid interviews with numerous police personnel, ranging from recruit to senior executive.
“It features most operational sections of the WA Police today and its content puts a human face on our agency, using personal interviews and images,” Commissioner Karl O’Callaghan said.
“One of the main reasons for the book was to give the community a better understanding of what it’s really like to be a police officer – and how better than through honest interviews and photos,” he said. “Another reason was to inspire present personnel in being a part of this huge organisation, and to also encourage future officers to join WA Police.
“This book will be an historical keepsake for years to come,” the Commissioner said.
The 336-page book is on sale for $45 (plus GST) with $5 from the sale of each book donated to WA Police Legacy. To buy a copy contact Kerry-Anne Stevens on 0439 510 729 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Postage and handling costs may also apply.
