There are a number of products available for the public to obtain access to information held by WA Police. The following services provide access to a range of different products. National Police Certificates
A National Police Certificate, (NPC) lists an individual’s criminal and WA traffic court outcomes and pending charges that are deemed disclosable at the time of application. The certificate is used by many employers and licensing bodies for their screening process.

Spending a Conviction
If an application to have a conviction declared spent is successful, it limits the disclosure of that conviction. For example, a conviction which has been spent is not listed on a National Police Certificate.

Record of Traffic Infringement Notice
A Record of Traffic Infringement Notices is a five year record of WA traffic infringements resulting from red light cameras, fixed speed cameras, multanovas and hand written traffic infringement notices issued by WA Police.

Abridged Crash Report
An Abridged Crash Report contains specific information collected by police in the course of a traffic crash investigation. The report is available to all involved parties or their authorised representatives and is commonly used for insurance claim purposes.

Abridged Incident Report
An Abridged Incident Report contains information on a third party which may assist in the recovery of losses resulting from an incident. This report is only available to those listed as a victim in an Incident Report or their authorised representative.

Statement of Material Facts
A Statement of Material Facts is a prosecution document served upon an accused when charged with a criminal offence. This document describes the circumstances of the offence that has resulted in charges by police but does not contain the outcome of any subsequent court hearing. A replacement copy of Statement of Material Facts is only available to an accused or their authorised representative.

This service provides an individual with a copy of a statement they have made to the WA Police in relation to an investigation. A replacement copy of Personal Statement is only available to the individual making that statement or their authorised representative.

History for Court
A History for Court document is a complete, certified copy of an individuals WA criminal record only and contains all WA criminal and traffic convictions, including non-disclosable outcomes such as juvenile and spent convictions. This document is strictly for court purposes only and cannot be used for any other purpose. A History for Court is only available to an individual or their authorised representative.

Freedom of Information
The Western Australian Freedom of Information Act 1992 (FOI Act) gives the public access to documents held by State Public Sector agencies including the WA Police.
Should you require access to documents held by WA Police and you are unable to obtain them through any other means, you can make application under the FOI Act. The FOI Act contains exemptions and limitations which can preclude or restrict the release of some documents, or restrict the release of certain details contained within some documents.
