The role of the Media Unit is to:

• ensure the provision of timely and accurate information to the public through the media;
• provide media management during critical incidents;
• support operational strategies such as the investigation of crime and maintenance of public order; and
• enhance the relationship between police and the media through mutual understanding of each agency’s role and needs.
