The Major Fraud Squad investigates major and complex commercial crimes including serious frauds, identity crimes, theft of valuable commodities (diamonds/pearls) and commercial crimes committed by public officers.
Due to the complex nature of many of the complaints received, the Squad is supported by an Assessment Desk, which reviews all files received to determine if the matter is criminal or civil in nature, prior to an inquiry being commenced. Additionally, the squad utilises an in-house Forensic Accountant, Solicitor and an Intelligence Analyst to assess complaints and facilitate investigations.
