2021 Nine News Police Excellence Awards - Finalists Announced!

After considering more than 147 examples of exceptional police work, the judging panel has completed the difficult task of selecting three finalists for each award category for this year’s Nine News WA Police Excellence Awards.

WA Police Force officers play a critical role in keeping the community of Western Australia safe. Even when faced with the additional challenges presented by an ever-changing COVID-19 environment, their dedication, courage and commitment to their duty and the community has been unwavering.

These deserving finalists represent the outstanding work being done by WA Police Force officers all over the State, and we congratulate everyone who received a nomination for this year’s Awards.

The finalists for each category are:  

INDIVIDUAL CATEGORY (in alphabetical order)

  • Brevet Sergeant Jesse Bill, Warmun Multi-Function Police Facility
  • Sergeant Andy Galbraith, Merredin Police Station
  • Senior Constable Nathan Smith, Broome Police Station (now at Busselton Police Station)

POLICE TEAM CATEGORY (in alphabetical order)

  • Child Abuse Squad – Armadale Multiagency Investigation and Support Team, Sex Crime Division
  • Fitzroy Crossing Police Station, Kimberley District
  • Northampton Police Station, Mid West-Gascoyne District

An Awards Breakfast will be held on Thursday 9 December 2021 to celebrate these finalists and announce the winners.
