Burglary Offences Down

The WA Police Force has worked with the Western Australian community to prevent burglary offences, with statistics showing the number of burglaries has hit a decade low.

Last year there were almost 4,500 fewer metro burglaries than three years ago, which equates to a decrease of 20 per cent and an average of 12 fewer home burglaries per day.

Householders are encouraged to continue protecting their homes by taking security measures such as locking doors and windows, and setting up home CCTV systems.

In the video below, Deputy Commissioner Gary Dreibergs discusses how an improved policing and forensic response is providing comfort to burglary victims.
