Deputy Commissioner Gary Dreibergs

Today, Deputy Commissioner Gary Dreibergs announced he is leaving Western Australia Police Force.

I congratulate Gary on his distinguished career with WA Police and thank him for his service.

Gary has served 40 years across a wide range of portfolios, including metropolitan and regional policing and is a worthy recipient of the Australian Police Medal. His contribution, particularly in leading Operation Tide, the police response to the COVID 19 pandemic over the past 2 years, has been an outstanding culmination of his service.

Gary has worked alongside me as one of my Deputy Commissioners since I became Commissioner in 2017. He leaves with my very best wishes and full support and now ventures into the private sector with extensive experience.

He has made a strong contribution to WA Police and the West Australian community over 4 decades and I wish Gary, his wife Denise and extended family the very best for the future.
