Emergency response in the southern parts of WA
Published on
Power and telecommunication services have now been restored to all police stations within the Midland, Wheatbelt, Goldfields-Esperance, and Great Southern Districts, with the exception of the Dowerin Police Station (Wheatbelt District).
Although services have been restored to most impacted areas, intermittent outages may still occur while repair work is completed to damaged infrastructure and network resilience increased.
As the situation continues in the Wheatbelt, Goldfields and Great Southern regions, members of the public are advised to keep tuning into ABC radio for updates and if access is available.

As a result of recent storm damage, there are currently significant power outages in the Wheatbelt, Goldfields and Great Southern regions including most homes and businesses in Kalgoorlie.
All relevant government agencies have just met and will be working around the clock to resolve the issue. Mobile phone coverage may be affected in these areas.
Major hospitals are operational, and Police and emergency services are upping patrols.
Emergency services are urging the affected communities to look out for each other. Check on vulnerable neighbours and community members.
