WA Police EveryWoman Expo

The WA Police Force recruiting team will be on-show at next week’s EveryWomen Expo.

The Expo will showcase businesses focussed on health and wellbeing, food, lifestyle, fitness and fashion, and is a prime opportunity to encourage women to join WA Police Force, in addition to Aboriginal and CaLD communities.

“By the Recruitment Team attending these expos [...] it allows women a chance to interact with likeminded women who have pursued a career in policing. There will be women from different ranks, specialist roles, and life experiences to share their insight.” Senior Recruiting Coordinator Senior Sergeant Jodie Leahy said.

S/Sgt Leahy said she knew from a young age that she wanted to pursue a career as a police officer. She said her current role on secondment to the Recruitment Team gave her an opportunity to share her experiences and stories with potential applicants.

“I wanted the variety and doing something different every day, the camaraderie with co-workers and excitement, and the chance to work in different areas and around the State,” S/Sgt Leahy said.

“With 28 years’ experience, having worked the majority of my career in the country, I still feel as passionate about it as the first day I was sworn in.” Minister Papalia speaking during the proceedings.
