Fatigue alert

*** FATIGUE ALERT *** A few seconds asleep at the wheel almost cost Gail her life, along with a young family. Dashcam footage shows how close she came to a head-on crash with Zuzana and Mike as they drove along Albany Highway near Tenterden last Sunday. Gail had already had already stopped twice for a rest on her drive from Perth to Albany, but admits it wasn't enough. She was lucky to survive the crash with three pelvic fractures, a broken arm and finger. We thank them all for sharing their story with the message to avoid driving tired.

This dashcam footage shows just how dangerous fatigue can be on our roads.

It was captured by a family driving north along Albany Highway near Tenterden just before midday on Sunday 18 August.

The driver approaching them on the wrong side of the road had momentarily fallen asleep at the wheel. Fortunately Zuzana and Mike were able to avoid a head on collision at 110 kph.

Gail had already stopped twice for a rest on her drive from Perth to Albany, but admits it wasn't enough. She was lucky to survive the crash with three pelvic fractures, a broken arm and finger.
