Western Australians are this morning waking to the news that Her Late Majesty had passed at the age of 96.

She had a deep affection for Western Australia and its people, and most recently visited Perth in 2011 for the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting. WA Police Force sends its deepest condolences to the Royal Family at this very sad time.

Flags will be flown at half-mast at police buildings as a mark of respect for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
