Merredin Blue Light Ball

On Saturday 19 February 2022, over $20,000 was raised for Merredin Blue Light and several charities at the Blue Light Community Charity Ball.

The Merredin community came together for a night of dancing, canapés and music – all in pursuit of a worthwhile cause.

Sergeant Andy Galbraith, Merredin Youth Committee Chairperson said, “We are so thankful to all of those who attended and supported the event and helped create a wonderful long-lasting memory in our small community. Without these people, our fundraising efforts could not have reached such an incredible outcome.”

Attendees were addressed by Assistant Commissioner Daryll Gaunt, who also holds the title of Board Member of PCYC WA. Mr Gaunt took the opportunity to present Merredin Police Station a Certificate of Excellence having made the top 10 finalists of the Police Excellence Awards in 2021. In addition, he presented an award to acknowledge the work of First Class Constable Tyler Winter, a member of the Merredin Blue Light team who has moved to a new work location.

“More than 12 months of behind-the-scenes work by our incredible Merredin Youth Committee team led to create what was a truly magical night. Without the hard work and dedication of these volunteers, this night, in all its magnificence would not have been possible,” commented Constable Ashling Spain.
