Walk Safely to School Ellenbrook

Walk Safely to School Day is part of National Road Safety Week and police were on hand to engage with children and parents to promote pedestrian safety.

Ellenbrook officers attended school crossings across the sub-district, greeting those on their way to school and handing out stickers and safety-related materials. Ellenbrook OIC A/Senior Sergeant Peter May said it was a fantastic opportunity to interact with the community in a fun, non-confrontational way.

Forrestfield Police assisted High Wycombe Primary School with an escort from a local park to their campus, joining with families and around 100 school children on the day. Forrestfield, Mounted Section and Midland District Youth Policing officers attended and kept the focus on safety. Forrestfield Sergeant Dwayne Skehan said there were plenty of smiles on children’s faces.

“What a great way for police to extend a positive influence over young people,” he added.
