Cannington District Superintendent Roger Beer and Sergeant John Elder

The Cannington Police District recently held a presentation evening to recognise and celebrate the service, teamwork and outstanding performance of some of their colleagues.

Cannington District Superintendent Roger Beer said ‘our people’ are immensely valued by us, and the community they serve. “Our team undertakes their duty under challenging circumstances and achieves incredible results everyday to keep the community safe,” he said.

The evening included the presentation of service medals ranging from 10 to 45 years. Kensington Police Station Sergeant John Elder received a standing ovation for proudly and diligently serving the community of Western Australia for just under 47 years. Ironically, Sergeant Elder commenced his career at the Victoria Park Police Station and now works just a few short kilometres away from where it all began. Sergeant Elder continues to provide quality leadership and is highly respected.

Individual officers and teams were recognised and presented certificates of commendation for going above and beyond:

• Cannington District RHHOR Team.

• Cannington DOS Team.

• Det. Sgt Ian Tower – Investigation Manager Belmont.

• Police Auxiliary Officer - Shae Miller.

• Customer Service Officer - Alycia Tristram.

The event was attended by friends and family of recipients who appreciated the opportunity to see their loved ones recognised.
