Inaugural Recognition of Excellence Awards open

Celebrating and recognising the excellent work of police officers and their teams is the aim of the inaugural WA Police Force Recognition of Excellence Awards.
Both the community and WA Police Force employees can nominate police officers, staff, business units and teams who they identify as excelling in their dedication to the community and the agency itself.
A/Commissioner Kylie Whiteley said the awards provide the opportunity to recognise those who do an amazing job every day of the week.
“Our officers and staff do an excellent job, protecting the community, day in day out. I am very grateful for the work that they do and this is the ideal opportunity to recognise those efforts,” Acting Commissioner Whiteley said.
WA Police Force teams and individuals who work within the metropolitan, regional or state divisions are eligible to be nominated for a range of different awards – some which recognise their commitment to the agency and others which are more community focussed.
For the first time, dedication to technology will also be recognised. Those individuals and/or teams that are developing and implementing technological initiatives to help police tackle crime are up for nomination.
The final award will be the aptly named ‘Brilliance in Policing Award’ which will be presented to an individual and team who have performed exceptionally in two or more of the award categories. This will be exclusively selected by the Commissioner of Police.
Nominations are easy and can be completed online via the WA Police Force Recognition of Excellence Awards page.
All nominations must be relevant for the period of 1 May 2023–5 April 2024.
Nominations are now open until Friday 5 April 2024, with the winners announced at a formal event in June 2024.
