Statutory Review of Part 5A of the Community Protection (Offender Reporting) Act 2004.

Call for Submissions

The Minister for Police has approved the terms of reference for a statutory review to be conducted into the operation and effectiveness of the legislation which established the Community Protection Website. The Community Protection website is located at and is also known as the public sex offender register.

The purpose of the legislation was to enable the Commissioner of Police to make information available via a website about certain categories of offenders.

Interested members of the community and organisations are invited to make a written submission to the statutory review addressing the operation and effectiveness of the legislation and/or the website.

The closing date for submissions is 4 October 2017.

More details about the conduct and scope of the statutory review are contained in the links below. This includes an information paper and a submission template which have been designed to assist interested persons or organisations to make a submission.
