Former Police Officers Medical Benefit Scheme
Former police officers can claim medical and other expenses for injuries they sustained while employed by the WA Police Force.
The Police (Medical & Other Expenses for Former Offices) Act 2008 was proclaimed on 16 June 2009. Under the legislation, former police officers can claim medical and other expenses incurred by a former officer on or after 1 July 2007.
Further information about the scheme, the claim form and medical certificate are available at the Insurance Commission of Western Australia (ICWA) website.
You must complete the claim form and submit to the Health and Safety Division, WA Police Force together with the Medical Certificate provided by the treating doctor and any other relevant information. Claim forms are available from the WA Police Force Health and Safety Division, WA Police Union, and ICWA.
