A caller need not give their name and is known only by a unique code number. Callers can remain anonymous at all times. This is vitally important to the success of the program. Calls are not recorded or traced.
Rewards may be payable for any information which helps solve any crime, not just crimes featured in the media. The reward monies are paid from a fund controlled and administered by the Crime Stoppers Board. The board, on a 'points rated' scale, determines the size of the reward. The money for the fund comes from contributions from the community, including businesses and the public.
Call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 if you have information about any crime, or any suspicious activities, or if you think you have useful information that may help prevent a crime.
Crimes can also be reported online at the Crime Stoppers website.
