What are my responsibilities when I am requested to remove my face covering?

You are required to remove or adjust the face covering so as to assist a Police Officer in identifying you. That will involve removing or adjusting as much of the face covering that totally or partially covers your face.

A Police Officer will only require you to remove or adjust the face covering to the extent necessary to identify you. That may include you, as you appear in any accepted and legitimate identification document such as a Driver's Licence or Passport.

You are also required to wait in the company of the police officer until such time as you comply with the request and the officer has been able to verify the correctness of any personal details you have given.
