Malaga Crash - Charges

Mirrabooka detectives have charged a man in relation to an evade police incident in Morley yesterday, Thursday 13 September 2018.

Police attempted to stop a BMW sedan on Wellington Road Morley around 11.55am. Police activate their emergency lights and sirens signalling for the driver to stop, however it will be alleged, the male driver accelerated away from police.

The vehicle evaded police from Morley to Malaga and it will be further alleged that the BMW rammed a police vehicle on Beach Road in Malaga. The driver lost control of the vehicle, crossed the median strip onto the incorrect side of the road and collided into a Hyundai causing injuries to the driver and passenger.

The driver of the BMW was arrested at the scene.

A 24 year old man from Aveley has been charged with the following offences:

• No Authority to drive – Cancelled.
• Driver of a vehicle failed to comply with a direction to stop (circumstances of aggravation).
• Reckless driving to escape pursuit by police.
• 2 x Dangerous driving causing bodily harm in circumstances of aggravation.

He is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today, Friday 14 September 2018.

The driver of the BMW and the driver and passenger of the Hyundai were all taken to Royal Perth Hospital with injuries.
