Fourth person charged re animal cruelty

Joondalup Detectives have charged a fourth man as a result of their investigation into the torture and death of two kangaroos that occurred between Saturday 19 May and Saturday 16 June 2018.

It will be alleged he was involved in the incidents where a kangaroo was burnt, shot with a firearm, spat on and kicked, then whilst being held by a man, the kangaroo was punched numerous times by a man wearing knuckle dusters and another kangaroo that was stabbed with a knife over 20 times before the kangaroo was kicked to the head.

It is further alleged on 31 March 2018, he tortured an adult chicken by placing it on a fire fuelled by accelerant. A small explosive device was detonated causing injury to the chicken.

A 26-year-old man from Wanneroo has been charged with:-
• Three counts of Cruelty to Animals; and
• Possession of Things Intended to Inflict Cruelty.

He is due to appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court today, 28 September 2018.
