State CCTV Strategy Infrastructure Fund
In late 2015, the State Government issued an open invitation to all Local Government Authorities (LGAs) to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for grant funding from a $5 million State CCTV Strategy Infrastructure Fund.
The purpose of the grant funding round is to install or upgrade CCTV cameras and/or other related infrastructure (i.e. CCTV recording systems) in crime hot spots.
A considerable number of EOIs were received with over $10 million in funding being sought from the limited funding pool. All EOI submissions were considered by an Assessment Panel in accordance with the criteria outlined in the State CCTV Strategy Infrastructure Fund Guidelines.
The Minister for Police has now considered the recommendations of the Assessment Panel, and the following applicants have been approved to move into the Proposal of Works phase of the grants process:
City of Albany, Town of Bassendean, City of Bayswater, Shire of Broome, City of Bunbury, Shire of Carnarvon, City of Cockburn, Shire of Derby West Kimberley, City of Gosnells, City of Greater Geraldton, Shire of Halls Creek, City of Joondalup, Shire of Kalamunda, City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Shire of Katanning, City of Kwinana, Shire of Laverton, Shire of Leonora, Shire of Moora, Shire of Mundaring, Shire of Northam, Town of Port Hedland, and the City of Vincent
Proposal of Works
The Proposal of Works phase is designed to assist LGAs to formalise the technical and cost elements of their projects. An officer from the State CCTV Strategy Secretariat will be available to LGAS and respond to any queries throughout this process.
Fact Sheet - SDK Availability and VMS Integration
The State CCTV Strategy project has received a number of queries requesting information on which video management systems should be procured to ensure compliance with the proposed Connected CCTV Solution. At this stage, only general advice can be provided, and the information has been collated into the Fact Sheet - SDK Availability and VMS Integration ( 65kb).
Once WA Police Force procurement for the proposed solution has been completed a list of compatible systems will be published.
