The Firearms Registry system has been replaced effective 29 April 2016. This system changeover will impact Firearm licence applications and renewal of licences to some extent.

Existing Licence Holders:
- Firearm Licence renewals issued after 29 April 2016 can be paid at an Australia Post Office, on line through BPoint or in person at Licensing Services, 303 Sevenoaks Street, CANNINGTON.
- Payments outstanding for licence renewals issued before 29 April 2016 should be taken to DoT agents until 31 December 2016.

Firearms Licence application form
The Western Australia Firearms Act 1973 requires the registration of firearms and the licensing of persons to possess them.

Application for Shooting Gallery Licence Events.
This is an application to issue a B709 Customs form (B709 Permit) to release firearms/accessories from Australian Customs Service, on entry into Australia. Firearms are a prohibited import and must be declared to Customs officers on entry into Australia.
Application to obtain and lawfully hold an additional barrel calibre the same as a firearm already held on the licence.
A downloadable business plan application for firearm dealers, repairers, manufacturers or corporate licence holders.
Notify Licensing Services of any Change of Name, Date of Birth or Address changes.
Application to be recognised as an approved Commercial Carrier of firearms.
Permission form to be completed by the primary owner of a firearm wishing to grant permission to a co-user.
Nominated persons application to possess, carry or use a firearm in the course of employment.
Disclosure of professional shooter’s details, including DPAW licence number, approved properties and species.
Disclosure of a primary producer’s occupation, the details of what they produce and the details of the loss of stock, property or money as a result of the vermin.
Disclosure of a nominee of a primary producer’s occupation, the details of what they produce on behalf of the Primary Producer and the details of the loss of stock, property or money as a result of the vermin.
Authority from the owner of the firearm for the applicant to purchase and make application for the firearm.
Form issued to the applicant by the owner of the property allowing the applicant to shoot on their property.
Temporary Permits are issued at a cost of $58.00 per month or part there of, and are paid by sending in a cheque or money order made payable to the ‘Commissioner of Police’ and posted to Licensing Enforcement Division, Locked Bag 9. East Perth WA 6892. Once the cheque or money order has been received the temporary permit will be posted out to the recipient with a receipt for the amount paid.
