Only pay the penalty if the notice is issued by police in the name of the person driving at the time of the offence.

If the person named on the notice was not the driver, complete Part F and return the notice to:

Please note:

  1. If you deal with this notice by paying it, under Section 104(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Act the person named on the notice is accepted as the driver and any applicable demerit points are allocated to them.
  2. Deliberately paying a notice in the wrong name to avoid penalties (demerit points) is a serious offence which may incur a period of imprisonment.
  3. Once a Notice is Paid it will not be overturned unless extraordinary circumstances are proved to exist.
