Help with Emergencies

Getting information during a community emergency

In the event of a major emergency in Western Australia, this web page would be one of a number of mechanisms used by Police and the State Government to communicate up-to-date information and advice to the public, in real-time. The public will be rapidly notified via the news media if this is the case.

Visit the WA Police Social Media pages for timely and critical updates.

Emergency Declarations

Per the Emergency Management Act (2005), a notice of a declaration must be published for general information as soon as is practicable after the declaration is made in any manner that the hazard management agency or State Emergency Coordinator, as the case requires, considers to be appropriate having regard to the circumstances and what is practicable.

17 July 2023 - 20 July 2023
On 17 July 2023, an Emergency Situation declaration was made for the space debris located at Green Head, Western Australia. The declaration expired on 20 July 2023 and is no longer current. Click here to view the declaration.

Emergency+ also provides users with information about who to call in various non-emergency situations. The free app can be downloaded from iTunes and Google Play Stores.
